A sturdy wooden desk in a professional counseling office, neatly arranged with a sleek laptop displaying an encrypted padlock symbol on screen, a pair of noise-cancelling headphones resting beside it, and a small potted fern adding a touch of green. Behind the desk, a large window frames a stormy sea and rugged coastline, the horizon softened by drizzle. Cool, natural daylight and a subtle desk lamp create balanced, even lighting with minimal shadows. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated angle, emphasizes security, organization, and modern, tech-enabled therapy in a calm, controlled environment despite the turbulent scenery outside.

Therapy Services

Free Consult: Rapport matters in therapy, which is why I offer a free 15 minute video meeting to meet me, in order to help you decide if you would like to move forward with therapy.

Initial Assessment: This session will be focused on gathering information in order to understand treatment needs and goals as well as some of your relevant background. We will make a joint decision on how frequently we will meet as well as an initial plan for the number of sessions. Many clients find improvement with 10 sessions or less but others may find that ongoing support is needed in order to work through deeper, ongoing challenges.

Individual Sessions: Therapy sessions will all be up to 55 minutes in length. You are not required to utilize the full 55 minutes if you feel that less time is more effective for you but that is the amount of time that I reserve for you each time. I also take a collaborative approach to the direction of treatment so our strategies can be adjusted as we go in order to be most effective for you. I pull from many different trainings and modalities in my approach but the most commonly used techniques are rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

How Therapy Works

From first contact to follow-up, our process emphasizes ease, confidentiality, and steady progress with practical strategies. The focus of sessions is unique to the individual. Sometimes we may focus on skills/techniques for navigating particular challenges. Sometimes we may focus on understanding underlying emotions that are driving unwanted behaviors. Sometimes we may focus on values and strengths in order to build a stronger sense of self. At all times, a focus on improving connection to self and others is emphasized. Through intentional efforts to let go of defenses and face difficult emotions and vulnerabilities, we are able to find the connection, meaning and fulfillment which we are often seeking.

A calm therapy office without people, featuring a deep navy upholstered armchair facing a low, pale oak coffee table with a closed leather-bound journal and a smooth river stone stacked on top. Floor-to-ceiling windows reveal a distant, stormy coastline with waves crashing against dark rocks, viewed through slightly misted glass. Soft, diffused overcast light fills the room, muting colors and creating gentle, elongated shadows. Shot at eye level with photographic realism, using a shallow depth of field that keeps the interior in sharp focus while the dramatic ocean remains slightly blurred, suggesting safety, privacy, and a professional yet comforting atmosphere.
